Walking in Jersey
The Jersey Round Island Walk is a circuit of Jersey’s beautiful coastline, with a tremendous contrast in scenery for such a compact area. Heather covers the north coast path upwards affording you fantastic views of the other Channel Islands, while in the south the landscape shifts into sloping sandy bays and harbours surrounding the capital St Helier.
From the rockier marine environment on the island’s east coast, the Cherbourg peninsula is visible just 18 miles across the Channel in France, while on the west coast the blue waters and wide sands of St Ouen’s Bay unfold before your eyes.

Path Walkthrough
Expansive cliff and coastal paths with inland sections through woodland along country lanes make up the paths that encompass Jersey island. Gradients are often gentle, but there are some rugged cliff paths and occasional steep slopes found along the coast. However, the island is mainly flat, and steep ascents are not overly prolonged with Jersey’s highest point being 446 ft - only a few yards inland at Les Platons.
Walkers can expect to find prehistoric sites, castles and churches, as well as concrete reminders of the Nazi occupation punctuated with tiny, colourful fishing harbours such as Bouley Bay.

Our Jersey Round Island holidays are available to walk March to October.
Jersey is suitable as a year-round destination and generally enjoys slightly milder weather than the south of England. Winters are mild, but there may be frosts and, very occasionally, snow. Very bad weather at any time of year may upset ferry schedules, while fog effects flights.
The peak summer period can be hot and busy, which may not suit those looking for peace and quiet. The shoulder seasons, spring and autumn, are generally ideal for walking, with bright, clear days and temperatures that are neither too high nor too low.
Travel arrangements for arrival/departure (not included in the standard holiday price)
Blue Islands www.blueislands.com, EasyJet, www.easyjet.com and BA www.ba.com fly to Jersey from various airports around the UK. You can also fly from some European destinations.
Condor Ferries, www.condorferries.co.uk operate between Jersey and Poole, Portsmouth and Weymouth and also sail from Jersey to St Malo and Guernsey should you wish to spend a rest day/s visiting another location.

It was great to have our luggage transported from place to place, and taxis to/from path and accommodation. We enjoyed being able to walk the path at our own pace.
