Path Walkthrough
This well-signposted route offers a varied mix of terrains, from sandy beaches and shingle shores to limestone cliffs and heather-strewn trails. The southern section features rolling woodlands, sand dunes, and the romantic Llanddwyn Island, while the northern side showcases dramatic sea cliffs around South Stack Lighthouse, offering panoramic views across the Irish Sea. Elevations can exceed 600m in places, with highlights like the Holyhead to Trearddur section. The trail also winds through tranquil villages and along the Menai Strait, giving walkers a blend of natural beauty and cultural intrigue. With blue tern waymarkers guiding the way, the Anglesey Coastal Path is perfect for both seasoned hikers and those seeking a scenic adventure.

Our Anglesey Coastal Path holidays are available to walk March to October.
British weather is notorious for its unpredictability, minimise the risk of walking in prolonged periods of rainfall by travelling no later than October.
Although you're unlikely to face any severe weather conditions, strong winds from the Irish Sea can make progress difficult while walking the clifftop routes.
Travel arrangements for arrival/departure
Train stations are located at Holyhead, Bangor and Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, (also known as Llanfairpwll!).
There is a bus service between Beaumaris and Bangor.
Llanfairpwll is a request stop on the Holyhead service.
You will be able to take the train from Liverpool directly to Holyhead.
Trains from the south generally change at Birmingham New Street for Bangor.
If you prefer to arrive by car, we can advise on car parking arrangements.
